PRIDE&PREJUDICE

SYNOPSIS
It's a story happened in a rustic of England at the end of the 18th century. The Bennets, a family with five daughter and no fortune. Meet the rich and handsome newcomers, Mr.Charles Bingley and Mr. Darcy. Mr. Bingley immediately taken with the eldest daughter, Jane, the gentle beauty of the family. Lizzie, a self-determined girl with beautiful face. Mr.Darcy tended to admire her wisdom and vivacious character. While Lizzie had a lot of misunderstanding about him. With a crisis of her little sister, Kitty, Lizzie finally realized how much she loves Mr. Darcy.

I've seen this movie before, which I was really touched and I liked it a lot. And I got the chance to recall my memories this week. The story concerns courtship and marriage among the gentry of pre-industrial England, focusing on the pursuit of love vs. the pursuit of financial security and social status. The part I like most is When they are having a second party, and Mr. Darcy invited Lizzie to dance with him. Many girls think just Lizzie, they might have a prejudice about man. But they will know there's a Mr. right waiting for her.

Kate & Leopold

I saw this movie on TV last night, it’s a story take place in New York and it’s talking about a Duke, Leopold, who time travels from1876 to 2001 with an amateur physicist, Stuart(which I think look like my English teacher in school..) . Leopold met Kate in 2001, an ambitious career woman and also Stuart’s ex-girlfriend. And although they can’t find true love within their own generations, it might be possible with one another.

I saw some movie review said that the plot of the story is not creative enough and seems like to cater the audience and become a fairy tales that they live happy ever after. Because in the Kate go bake to the past because she saw a picture that she was dancing with Leopold in 1876. But not because Leopold said something moved and made her touched.

However, I did not think that much when I was watching. This movie may not be my favorite one, but I do like happy endings.

Sanxia

This morning, we went to Manyue Yuan for biology experiment outdoor study, it’s a really national beautiful forest park, where you can take in the breathtaking beauty and see the botany of this park. And I had seen a lot of maple trees, which is my favorite tree, because like the shape of the leaf.

In the afternoon, we went to the old street in sanxia. We were hot and thirsty so we had ice shavings as soon as we get down the bus. Sanxia is famous for their croissant, which have many flavors addition to the original one such as green tea, taros and even coffee. Once you walk into to the street, you can see a lot of carven stones with fifferent themes on the floor. The buildings are old, but they still keep them intact. We strolling along the food stands and handiworks are along the street and having our croissant at the same time.

This is the first time I have been to Sanxia, I like the enchanting view in Manyue Yuan and the old architect. I had a really good time, and I'd like to visit Sanxia again.

Baseball in Taiwan

"Baseball has provided a healing and unifying force that could not be found elsewhere in the nation."Researcher Hsieh Shih-yuan (謝仕淵) noted. Baseball has played an important role in raising the profile of Taiwan when it was still an unknown member of the international community. in 1968 Agust, Taiwan's Teenagers baseball team, The Red leaves compete with the world champion, Japen's 歌山. Much to the world's surprise, Taiwan win with 7 to 0. And since then, when pepoele talks about Taiwan, they will think of baseball as well.

Now, Taiwan is qualified for the Baijing Olympics, though Chien-ming Wang is not able to play in the tournament, we will still tune in the TV and wathch the game together.

The Place I want to visit

I was born and raised in a big and busy city, the life here moves at a fast pace. I do like the convenient of Taipei, where I can go anywhere and get anything I want quickly. But sometimes, I just want to escape from my routine life and enjoy the nature.
I’m deeply attracted to the ocean. If I have the time and money to take a trip, I’d love to go to a small south Pacific island, without the hustle and bustle of big cities. Instead, people there have a life with slower pace and savoring each moment is what it’s about. In the morning, I can go surfing and diving; in the evening, there is nothing more pleasant than strolling along the beach and watching the sunset.

Life in the islands may not be very convenient and advanced, but it would be extremely relax.

Incredible Faith

One day, Jude's son, Reuben Stringfellow, then 17, brought home a little handicapped puppy with two leg. The puppy was named Faith not because the Stringfellow family believed she could one day walk for herself, but because they knew it would take faith for her to walk on her own. No one could do it for her. If Faith didn't do it, it wouldn't get done.

"I want people to understand that you can be imperfect physically and still be perfect through your soul, through your spirit," she said. I've read a lot of books and stories about people who are not perfect in physically, for example 乙武洋匡, a Japanese, who was born without arms and legs, but just like Faith, with the care and encourage of his family, he leads a positive life and become a writer and reporter;謝坤山, he lost his arms, right leg and even his sights of his right eye, but he never give up. Instead, he show everyone his lively paintings which is drew by his mouth.

Jude Stringfellow take Faith to children's homes, hospitals, churches and other places where she can make people laugh and feel good about life. We see so many fighters fight for their lives, try to prove themselves that they are only disable in physics but they are excellent in leading a meaningful life.

Ghost house

Last week, it’s the week of life science, as a tradition. We will make ghost house and let people visit. This sounds really interesting to me because I have not been to any ghost house except Disney. And now, I have the chance to do scary ghost and intimidate the customer.

The square outside the ghost house is thronged with people, we have to work until midnight and in the last day of the week, we have to stay up late until 5 a.m. in the morning. It’s hard to believe, but there really are people come in that “early.” When it’s your turn, there will be a tour guy take you into the house and there will be two scary receptionists waiting for you on by the information desk, sometimes there will be there, because there’s an other one hiding under the desk and you will have a really strange feeling on your feet. And then you will see a short movie, during the movie, there are ghost burst out from the screen and start to scream. And then the tour will take you to look around the deserted prison.

During the week, we were all exhausted. But that’s a really special experiment for me.
